Masquerade ball

Masquerade ball

It’s crazy,

This world we live in.

Where our looks condemn us,

And society’s eyes are our judges.

Where we dress to impress,

Falsify our emotions,

Wear well designed masks,

To not face exclusion.

We want to fit in.

We get faded,

To be accepted.

Too afraid to show our originality,

Terrified by the critics of our society,

We turn our life into a masquerade ball

And pray our mask does not fall.

We spend our days playing a role,

Letting the power of society take control.
